2017 LSBBT Bloggers’ Choice Awards: Best Children’s/Juvenile/YA & Best Series

The Lone Star Book Blog Tours team has voted, and the results are in!  From Best Fiction to Most Engaged Author, we have seventeen awards to hand out to the awesome Texas books and authors featured on Lone Star Book Blog Tours in 2017. Today we are sharing our picks for Best Children’s/Juvenile/YA Book & Best Series – and we had some great ones to choose from!
First up today is our pick for Best Children’s’/Juvenile/Young Adult book. Hands down, Evidence of Things Not Seen was the most unique book on the list (and falls firmly in the Young Adult category – this is not for younger readers.)  The other books on the list are more suited to our younger readers and excellent choices in all.  In children’s’ chapter books, The Eldridge Conspiracy (Sir Kaye the Boy Knight)  is wonderfully engaging and chock full of adventure and suspense, while The Secret Room was a sweet adventure. Hitchin’ Post and Almost A Minyan are delightful illustrated books just begging to be read aloud.

Evidence of Things Not Seen by Lindsey Lane
The Eldridge Conspiracy: Sir Kaye the Boy Knight, #4 by Donn Winn
The Secret Room by John Alexander
Hitchin’ Post by Julie Barker
Almost a Minyan by Lori Kline and Susan Simon

So many excellent contenders for Best Series winner, this was a tough one to pick! Historical fiction took the win (and the runner-up spot), and Melissa Lenhardt and Karen Witemeyer both should be on your bookshelf – but I wouldn’t pass up the books that hit our shortlist, either.
As you can see from my reviews, I thought Death in D Minor as well as Bonnie And Clyde: Resurrection Road were fun and fascinating (with a unique angle), and I’m a huge fan of John Alexander’s children’s chapter books, including The Secret Room featured here.
