SoFabU On The Road is coming to DFW! #SoFabOTR

I was provided a discounted ticket to SoFabU OTR in exchange for this post; however, all opinions are mine and mine alone.

I’m really looking forward to attending the SoFab U On the Road event that is being held in the Gaylord Texan Resort on May 30. If you can travel to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and don’t have a ticket yet, I would highly encourage to go buy one today as there are only a few tickets left! Initially the conference was limited to 50 people but organizers got a bigger room so there is room for a few more people (so get that ticket here)!

Still on the fence? Let me tell you a bit more about the conference: SoFabU on the Road is all about hands-on, interactive sessions that will allow you to put what you’re learning to use right on the spot. The sessions are paired with a fun adventure where you’ll get to put your newly learned skills to test – in Dallas, attendees will go on a tour of three of the award-winning restaurants featured at the Gaylord Texan resort and will learn from their chefs about recipe creation and plating foods. To complement this, video and photo pros will lead each group and share tips to make your content stand out!

Learning

Next week will be my seventh year of blogging – SEVEN – and the evolution of blogging means there is always something to learn.  I more a storyteller when I write so I’m particularly excited about the Storytelling Hands on Session – I’m always looking for ways to build my skills. There will also be several sessions on building blog traffic – which, honestly, is one of my weaker skills. I’m good at the telling but I need to work more on getting my words out there!

Randi Dukes of the wonderful craft and DIY blog Dukes and Duchesses is the SoFabOTR ambassador and is a featured speaker at the conference. Randi loves creating sponsored content for companies and has worked with many large brands including Better Homes and Gardens, Michaels, and The Home Depot. Randi is passionate about using social media to promote and monetize her site and has developed strategies that have brought consistent growth in her social media platforms and steady, increasing traffic to her site. She has over half a million combined followers on her various social media channels. Randi has previously spoken at Haven Conference and loves sharing with and encouraging other bloggers. Regularly featured on sites such as Today, Country Living, and Buzzfeed, Randi enjoys inspiring people with simple seasonal and everyday projects.

Networking

I confess, as a recent transplant to the DFW area, I’m really hoping to crawl out of my shell and meet some of the wonderful bloggers that live in the area and who I’ve been following for a while. The smaller format of the conference is great for scaredy-cats like me. If you are heading to SoFabU, please say “hi!” – I promise I won’t be hiding in the bathroom for this one.

In addition to meeting fellow bloggers, conferences also offer an opportunity to network with sponsors, and SoFabU has some great ones: national sponsors are Johnny RocketsMüllerKraft, Collective Bias, Drive Shop and iBlog on the national side, and local sponsors include SeaLife Aquarium and Lego Discovery Center, Kind, GoGo Squeez and Shell.

Other upcoming opportunities to attend SoFabU On the Road are:

June – NYC
July – Chicago
Aug. – Minneapolis
Sept. – Atlanta
Oct. – Bentonville
