How to get your kids up and moving? (A Review of Pop Party 10)

Recently I was given a copy of “Pop Party 10” to review.  I had NO idea of the level of response I’d get from my 6-year-old daughter (think crystal-shattering shrieks of joy), and was equally surprised (if not more so) by how excited my 8yo was, forgetting that while his playlist is heavily peppered with U2 and the Rolling Stones, Fun is his current favorite.

We are a house of music lovers, and my kids love to sing. Loudly. LOVE.  (I mean, we have STAGE in our house.) This is one CD that has them singing and dancing all the time.  I will admit that I’m not as up on the pop hits as my kidlings are (how do they know all these songs?), and in all honesty, have never been much of a compilation fan, but we ALL really love this CD. (And it has the added bonus of letting the kids hear a favorite song without being forced to listen to an entire Justin Bieber CD in the car. If you lean that way. As I do.)

Track Listing includes 22 pop hits:

1. PSY – GANGNAM STYLE
2. CARLY RAE JEPSON – CALL ME MAYBE
3. MAROON 5 – PAYPHONE
4. TULISA – YOUNG
5. ONE DIRECTION – WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL
6. JUSTIN BIEBER – BOYFRIEND
7. CHERYL – CALL MY NAME
8. NE-YO – LET ME LOVE YOU (UNTIL YOU LEARN TO LOVE YOURSELF)
9. JESSIE J – DOMINO
10. WILL.I.AM FEAT. EVA SIMONS – THIS IS LOVE
11. FUN FEAT. JANELLE MONAE – WE ARE YOUNG
12. THE WANTED- CHASING THE SUN
13. RIHANNA – WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN
14. COVER DRIVE – TWILIGHT
15. OLLY MURS – DANCE WITH ME TONIGHT
16. KATY PERRY – PART OF ME
17. STOOSHE – BLACK HEART
18. CONOR MAYNARD – CAN’T SAY NO
19. ALYSSA REID – ALONE AGAIN
20. RIZZLE KICKS – MAMA DO THE HUMP
21. JLS – PROUD
22. THE SATURDAYS – 30 DAYS
Also included is a DVD containing 15 music videos and two “behind the scenes” videos, and a lyrics sheet, which is perfect for my wanna-be rock stars and dancers. (Even if Pea has now picked up a few dubious dance moves from a few of the videos.)
If you want to get your kids up and dancing, this is the CD for you:

Even if I really, really need to find a way to keep Boo from dancing to Psy’s Gangham Style. Oy.

  1. Is it available over here? Maybe one for Julia and Sophia. Could use another small gift.
