The Gallery: Back To School

I started to write that the summer holidays just flew by, but in reality, the past three YEARS have flown by.

My kids are starting their fourth year of school here in the UK. It’s been such an amazing opportunity for them, and I’ve been grateful for it.

I can’t believe how much they’ve grown in what seems like mere seconds.

I still remember the first day I took Pea to the Preschool located within the school grounds, and now she is in the final year of Key Stage 1. Before that first year of school even ended, she was moving up to the Nursery level of the “big” school, complete with uniform. I remember how nervous I was as I dropped her off….now, she too has no time for me as I bring her to her new classroom.

Now, Pea has finally grown some legs, while Boo has long grown past good-bye kisses.  I’m lucky if I am allowed squeeze a hug out of him, and most days he attends Breakfast Club, just so he can ride to school with his Dad and get his day started with his friends.

I’m sure it isn’t just to avoid my embarrassing him with hugs and such….

This is  a big year for both of my kidlings, and it is a joy to see just how happy they are to go to school each morning.

If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to bake a “Thank you for not making me homeschool” cake for the teaching staff…..

This is week 113 of the Gallery: Back to School
