Fill in the Blank Friday

1. Giving is something I really enjoy, but I hate to give just anything – I really like to find the perfect gift for someone. I hate having to “settle” for a gift because I’m stumped and don’t know what to give the receiver. (Hello, DAD.)  I also prefer giving something that someone really wants, but might not get for themselves because they don’t “need” it*.

(*Unless their financial situation really precludes them getting the things they NEED.)

2. Receiving is fun too. I won’t deny it – its nice to be thought of. Just getting a card, though, that says “I’m thinking of you” means a lot these days.

3. The best gift I ever received was my engagement ring. It was a total surprise and is absolutely lovely, and I still get a tingle every time I look at it.

4. The best gift i ever gave was (boy, this is tough – I have had some big fun at Christmas time) but probably Allman Brothers concert tickets to my husband. While I’m not a huge fan, he was really excited, and we had a great time. My son might argue with this choice on Christmas day, though!

5. Something intangible that I wish I could receive is self-confidence. I’m so lacking in this department. Oh, and a bit more skill in the crafty department. I really wish I could sew and knit!

6. Something intangible that I wish I could give is self-confidence and the feeling that one can do anything. If there is ANYTHING I’d like my children to have, it is these two traits.

7. The one gift I always wanted as a child, but never got was…I honestly can’t remember anything that I desperately wanted but didn’t get (but I’m sure my mom would come up with something).

How would YOU fill in the blanks?
