The Lone Star Book Blog Tours team has voted, and the results are in!  From Best Fiction to Most Engaged Author, we have seventeen awards to hand out to the awesome Texas books and authors featured on Lone Star Book Blog Tours in 2017.  Today we are pleased to announce the winners for “Best Hook” and “Most Creative Concept”!
From February 15-23, 2018, please join us as we hop around the LSBBT blogs and share the winners, runners-up, and shortlisted titles. Don’t miss it!

Best Hook proved to have some serious contenders and we actually ended up with a three-way tie!  Our winners for Best Hook split between Bonnie and Clyde: Resurrection Road by Clark Hays and Kathleen McFall, The Grave Tender by Eliza Maxwell and Badlands by Melissa Lenhardt.

I reviewed Bonnie and Clyde: Resurrection Road (click here to get to my review) as well as The Grave Tender (click here for my review).  The Grave Tender was of those rare books that is difficult to review because I really didn’t want to give one single thing away.  Bonnie and Clyde: Resurrection Road was a reimagining of the Bonnie and Clyde story (hint: they didn’t really die in a hail of gunfire, but instead were railed into working for the government.  I haven’t yet read Badlands, but it is at the top of my TBR pile.

Bonnie and Clyde: Resurrection Road also won the “Most Creative Concept” category – this choice was a no brainer. The sweet picture book Almost a Minyan was the runner up.   This was another book I had the opportunity to review, a lovely tale of coming-of-age in the Jewish community. I reviewed it here, and this story represents what I love about being a book blogger – the opportunity to read books that might fall outside my usual genre and/or view.
